Dr. Nicholas J. Reo

Dr. Nicholas J. Reo (Sault Ste Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians) Director, Editor, Producer: Nick Reo is an Associate Professor of Indigenous Environmental Studies at Dartmouth College (New Hampshire, USA) where he directs the Homelands Collective and Studio. He is a lifelong surfer, skater, and snowboarder with 20 years experience in Indigenous-centered and team-based research.

Dr. Jordan Te Aramoana Waiti

Dr. Jordan Te Aramoana Waiti (Ngāti Pikiao, Te Rarawa, Ngaati Maahanga, Ngāti Haupoto) Producer, Advisor: Dr. Waiti is a lecturer within Te Hautaki Waiora Faculty of Health, Sport and Human Performance. Previously, he was a Māori Health Consultant based out of Whaingaroa/Raglan. In 2015 he completed a PhD at Massey University, which focussed on Māori notions of ‘Resilience’ and how they are utilised by whānau who had experienced adversity. With Honours and Masters degrees from Otago University, his research expertise has been broadly based in the area of Māori Health. For the past 10 years Waiti has been a volunteer facilitator for the Te Taitimu Youth Trust in Hawkes Bay.

Dan LaFranier

Dan Piisimkaneemetok LaFranier- Director of Photography, Editor, Producer: Dan LaFranier is a Chippewa-Cree filmmaker from the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana. He studied environmental science and film and media at Dartmouth College and has contributed to several films about indigenous stewardship, food sovereignty, and social justice. He owns Sundance Media (Kalispell, Montana.) and has caught at least 2 waves since the start of filming.

Mark L. Wilson, MPA

Mark L. Wilson, MPA (Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians) Audio Engineer, Producer: Mark has a Masters of Public Administration from CMU, Bachelor of Arts from GVSU, and an Audio Engineering degree from the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. He served two terms as an elected Tribal Councilor of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians (GTB) and is the owner of New Leonard Media, LLC in Traverse City, MI. His background is in visual communications, audio production, and community advocacy. Mark’s credits include: contributing work on Into The Outdoors: “The Ottaway, A River Reborn”, The Grand Vision “Boardman River Dams”, "13 Minutes" movie (2021), "Clarice" on WB (2021), "Rally Caps" (2023)
